Busseboom

On 15 November 1917 thirteen Chinese labourers were killed in a German air-raid in Belgium. Little is known about these men, except that they were buried near Busseboom by their fellow-labourers immediately after the attack. After the war the bodies were exhumed by British order and reburied in Bailleul, Northern France.


The "Busseboom Thirteen" are the first of a series of labourers, whose identities, places of origin and circumstances of death have been determined. The thirteen will carry the commemoration of 2010.
